# What this site can and cannot do for you

*About This Site | Joint Regeneration Scottsdale*

> How this joint regeneration Scottsdale site explains sore joints, local care, ownership, and medical limits.

When a joint aches, too much reading can wear out your patience. You need a plain next step and a reason for it.

This site gives general facts, but it can't examine your joint or choose care. Joint regeneration here means clinic procedures using blood or tissue taken from the body.

## What to take from these pages

Use these pages for simple relief, urgent changes, and useful questions for a visit. Read a linked source when you want more detail.

You don't need to study every source before asking for help. Reading alone won't tell you why your joint hurts.

An exam may show swelling and lost motion. Arthritis may be the likely cause, while the amount of relief from a procedure remains unknown.

Ask for the answer in three parts. What is shown, what is only likely, and what can't yet be known?

## What the clinic relationship means for you

This site is operated by the owners of the QC Kinetix Phoenix-area clinics, including the Scottsdale location discussed in the local guide. If a reader books after using these pages, the business can benefit.

Remember that business tie when you read the health information. The linked sources can help with questions for your doctor.

The site can't diagnose your joint or promise that a procedure will work. Your exam, health history, medicine, and goals still guide the choice.

The notice lets you judge the clinic connection for yourself. That is the main fact about who provides these pages.

## What to do when the ache doesn't ease

Stop reading and get quick help for fever with marked joint heat and swelling. Sudden weakness, numbness, a bent joint, or lost use also needs prompt care.

For steady soreness, QC Kinetix may discuss regenerative treatments made with blood or other tissue taken from the body. These non-surgical procedures follow a joint exam.

Ask which soreness may ease, what result isn't known, and when progress will be checked. That is clearer than asking whether the treatment simply works.

Your own doctor can also discuss ordinary care or surgery. A website can't replace a medical talk based on your health.

1. FDA's public list of licensed cellular and gene therapy products is the checkable answer to 'is this FDA-approved?'. A product not on that list, and not being administered under an active IND, is not an approved therapy however it is described in a brochure. For orthopedics the list is short and its cartilage entry is MACI, indicated for focal full-thickness knee defects.

2. In January 2025 the Federal Trade Commission banned the co-founders of a stem cell institute and their companies from marketing stem cell treatments and ordered them to pay more than $5.1 million in refunds and civil penalties. Deceptive EFFICACY ADVERTISING, not merely unapproved manufacturing, is independently actionable - the FTC polices what a clinic promises as well as what it injects.

3. FDA's guidance on the 21 CFR 1271.10(a) criteria of MINIMAL MANIPULATION and HOMOLOGOUS USE is the rule that decides whether a cell or tissue product may be offered as a lightly-regulated 'section 361' HCT/P or requires full drug approval as a 'section 351' biologic. Docket FDA-2017-D-6146; the revised July 2020 version extended the agency's period of enforcement discretion through 31 May 2021 - which has now expired, so products outside 361 need an approved application or an active IND.

4. The RESTORE trial - a participant-, injector- and assessor-blinded RCT of 288 adults aged 50+ with symptomatic medial knee OA (Kellgren-Lawrence 2-3) - compared three weekly intra-articular PRP injections against saline placebo, with co-primary endpoints of 12-month knee pain and medial tibial cartilage volume on MRI. PRP did not beat placebo on either. It is the single best-designed test of the specific claim that PRP changes joint structure, and it was negative.

5. A four-arm, multicentre, single-blind phase 2/3 randomized trial of 480 knee OA patients (KL II-IV) compared autologous bone marrow aspirate concentrate, autologous adipose stromal vascular fraction and allogeneic umbilical-cord-tissue mesenchymal stromal cells against a corticosteroid injection control. At 12 months NONE of the three orthobiologic injections was superior to another, or to the corticosteroid control, and none of the four groups showed a significant change in MRI osteoarthritis score from baseline. No procedure-related serious adverse events occurred.

6. A 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis of 28 randomized trials of intra-articular mesenchymal stem cell-based therapies in knee OA found significant improvements in several pain and function measures (delta-VAS MD -1.67; KOOS pain MD 15.37) but NO significant difference in WOMAC, KOOS quality of life or the Lequesne index, and MRI-based WORMS scores were non-significant - indicating no consistent structural benefit. Its own conclusion: these therapies serve a primarily SYMPTOM-modifying rather than STRUCTURE-modifying role, with higher frequencies of local reactions to weigh against the symptomatic benefit.
